Annual Conference 2026
President's Message
On behalf of the IADFS board, I would like to welcome you to the 12th AnnualConference of the International Association of Diabetic Foot Surgeons, to be heldin Padua on 5–6 November 2026.
Over the past decade, we have witnessed significant advances in the surgical management of the diabetic foot, driven largely by an improved understanding of the critical role of interdisciplinary care in achieving optimal outcomes. Functional limb salvage—preserving not only the limb but also its function and the patient’s quality of life—is now an increasingly attainable goal.
This two-day conference will focus on the modern multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of diabetic foot conditions, with particular emphasis on the range of surgical strategies. The programme will cover both established practices and the latest innovations, including advanced endovascular techniques and ultra-distal bypass procedures for peripheral arterial disease, contemporary approaches to soft tissue reconstruction and wound care, and deformity correction ranging from forefoot pathology to complex midfoot and hindfoot Charcot reconstruction.
The meeting is designed to be highly interactive, offering ample opportunities for engagement with a distinguished international faculty through lectures, hands-on sessions, surgical video demonstrations, complex case discussions, and free paper presentations. These sessions will foster meaningful dialogue on evolving treatment paradigms and encourage robust discussion on modern limb preservation and salvage strategies.
We very much hope you will be able to join us in Padua and look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be an engaging and stimulating conference.
